I'm looking at buying a Range Rover Sport and wondered if anyone could educate with with regards to car finance.

Historically I have always paid for a car on one lump sum but have several colleagues who lease or use finance vehicles, which they see as better value. What is your opinion when it comes to depreciation/exit costs etc

I appreciate that what I am asking about is very broad but I would be grateful if someone could assist me.

Cheers

Can I be the first to congratulate you on buying the ultimate financed car LOL

Try www.rrsport.co.uk
There is a finance guy on their as well as a dealer I rate highly who will advise further

LR have just announced their deals for the next quarter
They are mostly finance based

FWIW leasing in my opinion fell off a cliff when the SH market bombed
Previously some of the deals were kind of OK but not now residuals plummetted

Lings will prob be competitive and give you an idea of cost

There is an old saying that you should always lease anything that floats, flies or something else that begins with f that I cant immediately recall smile

However you also know ehere you are with hard cash which has always been my own choice

If I have to borrow then I cant afford it and it tastes sweeter after the waiting period of saving the pennies

BTW I have a TDV8 and have been amazed how well we get on!!

Cheers

If you normaly pay cash then look into APP, basicly pay a deposit upfront (typicaly 60-65% ish) then pay the balance in 2 years time.

Land Rover have a couple of examples here..

Thanks for your responses chaps, I will investigate further.

RRS Staffs- I paid cash for my Audi S4 cab but am fed up having to wedge people (the mother in law) in the back and having to put suit cases on the back seat when I go to the airport!

I'll either pay up front for a used example £20k ish or if I can educate myself re the murky world of residuals etc.

It's either an RRS, X5 or ML. The supercharged RRS is winning at the moment! biggrin
