Masses of PH I could use some much appreciated help please!

I had a prang in my Freelander a couple weeks back, driving too fast on a gravel drive and conveniently hit the only tree around. It doesn't seem worth claiming on my insurance as my excess is £250 and I feel I could buy the parts for less than that and not lose any of my no claims.

I clearly need a new headlight which is easy enough to get hold of but I am having trouble identifying the box I've managed to destroy. It appears to be a simple air box but I've not managed to find any pictures or information to confirm this or work out what the part I need to buy is. I've attached photos.

There's also a little damage to some of the panels in the engine bay, you can see this in the photo, This doesn't seem too bad and I'm hoping to be able to bend these back into shape, may require some welding. Would there be any problem with this? My work provides me with a great mechanic who will be able to help me out.

The car is a 2000 Freelander Diesel 5 door I use for work, I'm planning on keeping it and running it into the ground so am trying to keep it cheap.

Any general advice appreciated.

I'm not sure if it is in this case, but lots of modern cars have 'air resonance' boxes tucked away in the inner wings or behind bumpers. The intention of these is to reduce the induction noise of the air being drawn into the engine. Does this box have a pipe running from it to the air filter box? If it is this, then there is no real need for it, and it just reduces the air flow and performance slightly. I've disconnected these on a few cars and they have had no ill effects. If it's not this then I'm afraid I don't know frown
