Was just eyeing this up - although I'm picking up a stock V8 tomorrow, it did make me take a second look! Would make a nice car for someone, and at a reasonable price too I think...

Shame about the interior. Looks as scabby as a pikey's dog.
Are those carpets in the footwell going green?confused

That's why it's only £3k I guess - has been sat for 4 years! As long as the chassis is sound, all the cosmetics could be sorted for ~£500 I'm sure - bodywork looks good?

I'd be changing that steering wheel immediately that's for sure.

That does look quite tempting. The leather looks pretty salvageable and the steering wheel was an overfinch option.
As long as the engine/gearbox are still sound and the welding isn't terminal it would make an interesting purchase.

I'd bin those daft spotlamps on the front - That 5.7 needs cooling air.

Carpets are green because they're in the shadow of the green tinted window.

Hi all, im a little new to forums etc in general, but found this post whilst searching overfinch. I am the new proud owner of this very vehicle, finally collected the beast on saturday..not too bad for age - the drivers sill being the only major rot. body work not as tidy as photos surgest. VERY HAPPY with purchase http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/2.gif

Brakes to sort as a priority - had a nip round in industrail estate, only managed full throtle for 1 second & had to do several laps to coast to a stop..quite scary..needs electrics tidying in engine bay, couple of bushes, top tailgate, o/s sill, e/window to repair - hence the fusty interior, which cleaned up a treat ! there the esential bits. will only run on LPG not petrol (could be worse!!)
bit skint as a result of purchase. so have a much slower 300tdi auto for sale to fund restoration.

How much do you reckon it'll cost to sort?

dont think its going to cost too much to get an MOT on her, im highly skilled and can do work myself (just set up business,so VERY busy at mo) im thinking about £200 in parts + shed load of my labour... as all the jobs are heavy time consumers ie all the brake lines & fittings, wiring, sill to cut out & replace (only rotten section other than top tailgate) CANT wait....hoping to make a start Xmas > new year

removing them to aid cooling.. was going to use 1 as a work light in van but if you have use for pair. 1 may require crome polishing a little, didnt look too close. will check condition.
