I am looking for a dona coil spring V8 chassis inc engin, for a series 3 lightweight project, up to what year Range rover / disco can I use
my knowledge is limmited at the moment so any help please

Depends what you want to do with it. But all chassises are basically the same. Do check th DVLA regs on custom built cars such as this.

Disco up to 98(300 Series),Classic RR until 93/94 not the one that looks like London Taxi!(both run beam axles same as Defender)

P38a Range Rover or Disco II could also be used. Both use the same box section chassis and live axles, but they would likely be more work.

And both a P.I.T.A,too many rubber gators and try changing a wheel bearing you need to buy the whole hub at loads of £,just scrapped a Disco 2(spares car)stick to good old fashioned beam axles

confused

A beam axles is a LIVE axle - both p38a Rangie and D2 have them - same as a Defender wink

Thank you I knew there was a year when things got difficult, I have spoken to a number of landy boffs and I recall there being a optimum cut of year

There really isn't an optimum year it all depends what you want to do. I've got a pic of an p38a special. I'll post it up later.
