Goodyear MTRs in 19 inch wheel size
Discussion
Has anyone used these MTRs in the snow? Have you any comparisons between them and a set of similarly-sized winter tyres?
I'd like to equip my wife's car with something a bit better than the normal tyres she has at the mo, until March I guess. At the price 255/50-19 winter tyres are coming in at (decent ones, like Nokians), I could afford a set of MTRs but despite their chunky looks, I don't know whether they are comparible to a set of dedicated winters in snow, wet, and dry (but cold) roads.

I've just fitted the brand new general grabber AT (which supercede the old AT2) to my supercharged
I fitted 275 x45 x20 which are the only 20 inch size currently available at the moment and they are the same rolling radius as the OE size
They look absolutely superb and give the car much needed aggression and fill the arches better, more importantly the grip in the snow and slush is incredible - they just dig in and bite with stopping distances much less than before, much more impressive than I expected
Compared to the conti sport contacts I had on before, the grip levels are night and day
Noise wise there is a very slight hum at 50mph with the radio off but that is to be expected with 12mm of tread
Only downside is a slight loss of feel through the steering but I think this is down to tread block flex and I'm sure I will get used to it soon
I have a few magazine articles reviewing the new AT and I will try and post tomorrow
I intend to keep them on all year round rather than have to switch between summer and winter tyres - well the weather here is mostly crap all year round anyway
