Hi

Bit the bullet today and got myself a 2004 V8 Vogue for the snow. Not my first choice in colour but it's in very good condition but needs a good valet. It's got 60k on the clock and all the toys. I have a few questions:

On the sat nav I tried using it but it says insert disc. I have an empty box but no disc? does the disc go in the cd changer? If so I have no disc? can you order these? how much do they cost?
The boot lid rattles up and down like its not shut properly when it's shut. Is this just an adjustment? The boot also feels like it needs new shocks that lift the boot lid up.
The door handles and a few bits of trim are a bit chipped. Can you get these re-painter? If so how much.

TIA

Jeremy

Rear boot lid - easy fix. Undo the bolts holding the lock on the lower boot lid, apply Loctite to bolts. Redo, ensure lock is in correct position. Close boot, leave for a couple of hours, permanent fix. This was actually advice from LR when I bought mine a couple of years ago. So far it's worked....

PS: Get your gearbox oil changed. wink

Edit: Nice car by the way.

Yes, you should have a satnav disc in yhe changer. It will be ancient now anyway. You can buy updated discs fm LR (maybe Navtec) but they are not cheap >£200.

New gas struts for the bootlid are a DIY job, bolts as highlighted above are easy enough.

Chipped door handles eh? Respray them at yr local bodyshop.......

Good luck, only thing are the splints on the front diff shafts. Get 'em sorted, part of a recall by LR.....

Sat nav - buy a TomTom, it's cheap compared to the pain of using the old Etch-A-Sketch one.

These can go on the door handles.

They are just like the "gypsy trinket" chrome ones, but standard clouring.

Lovely car by the way.

Mine's an 08 and the disc goes into the system in the boot compartment, left hand side.

Not sure where your's will fit.

I love my car but not really impressed with the Sat Nav though - even with the most recent upgraded disc from Nav Tek 2009 -2010 version.

When I complained to them, after returning from a holiday in France, they simply didn't want to know.

Thanks all

I have Just ordered the door handles as its the only thing letting the car down.

I will order the cd (are the ones on the website legal?)

I was having a play about with the car. Do all vogues have the auxiliary heaters. On the screen it gave me an option to set two times for it to come on and a red cross appeared at the bottom right hand side of the screen? If so it will be really handy for the gym at 6 in the morning.

Needs to be diesel for the FBH to actually heat the car. Otherwise all it will do is blow air about

Nice car Jeremy,

You can order correct sized rear plates, fill the hole correctly.

Nice plate, yours?

Unfortunately it's not my plate the trader had just picked the car up from a main dealer. I got new full size plate which I put on the car myself. The car just needs a good clean it's driving me mad.

I'd let all the snow go first before getting it cleaned.

Looks nice!
