Been Offered a Series 2
Discussion
Hi All,
I have been toying with the idea of getting a green laner for quite some time. I have just been offered a series 2 1978 t-reg Land rover short wheel base, with 70,000 on the clock, a long MOT and 5 months tax.
So the question is how much is this car worth?
Thanks for your help.

If it's a '78 then it's a series 3 (headlights in the wings not the front grill). I have been toying with the idea of getting a green laner for quite some time. I have just been offered a series 2 1978 t-reg Land rover short wheel base, with 70,000 on the clock, a long MOT and 5 months tax.

Value is several grand if concourse or a few hundred quid if running. Realistically somewhere between 750 and 1500?? But it depends HUGELY on condition, not age or miles...
Has it got any luxuries like 750 wheels, overdrive, freewheeling hubs, doortops that fit, steering that points vaguely straight? If so have it :-)
If it's got an MOT and no rot in the chassis or bulkhead and it's between 500quid and a grand then have it.
Does that help?

If it has a flat box section rear cross member instead of the 'tapered' corner cilivian one, it will be ex MOD and reason why on a T plate but more like 1960's vintage.
Thought all ex MODs were registered against year manufactured or a Q plate depending on documents and proof??Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
