Left folks place to get back to London around midday, usually a 20 minute journey.

Spent 4 hours traveling just 2.5 miles to get to the motorway. All roads were blocked by a hoard of people trying to get to the shops!!!! Talk about not going on essential journies!!!!!

Anyway, once onto the M1 had my own lane entirely to myself and trundled along at 35 while everything else was doing 10-20. Nice feeling biggrin

It's incredibly frustrating being stuck on roads that you know are no issue to a RR on the proper tyres.

Interestingly, almost every car which was blocking a road was a BMW, no traction at all on their fat tyres, RWD and mass at the front.

I made the mistake of going to the shops yesterday and share your pain.

Looks like it's getting better here (fingers crossed) so we can return to some sort of normality tomorrow.

Being both a BMW and RR owner, I appreciate how bad BMW's are. My 330Ci has the M-Sport 18" alloys with summer tyres and can't even get out of the carport onto the drive, let alone out of the drive onto the main road! Stupid car.

RR on the other hand is immense. I had the same problem as you in tesco on Sat when the snow arrived. Sat there for half an hour, got fed up so drove over the island, out the entrance (noone was coming in by then!!), over the roundabout and straight up the hill! Everyone else was queuing to turn left up the other hill and getting nowhere.

Tescos in Amersham?

Superb RRC garage up in Coleshill, Graham Goodyer.

Re BMW, my 130 hasn't been moved for a while wink

That's the one! Nightmare to get out of - my brother was stuck there for 2 hours last year in the snow! Only one entrance/exit, and every route out is a hill! I loved my Rangie at that moment, straight out no problems.

Have heard of Graham Goodyer, although haven't visited yet as have a good local mechanic near where I work - but if I need anything RR specific I'll pay him a visit. Might take it up there for a once-over in the New Year actually. You had any work done there?

He's looked after both my Rangies and all the shooting LRs in the area. Excellent value for money and really good service. Just nice people who know their job inside out.
