Hi all

Been loving my new toy, a 05 LR Discovery SE which a I got about 6 months ago. Fantastic for life up here in muddy Scotland!

Couple of weeks ago the 'Park assist' warning light on the dash has started coming on - its intermittent only coming on now and again. First phone call to a dealer had the obligatory sharp in take of breath and a possible worst case scenario of a strip down, new sensors and pads at a cost of approx £1800! - eek!

Anyone had any experience of a park brake assist warning light coming on and potentially what this could mean?

any help would be greatly welcomed

many thanks

scott

Seriously now guys, I'm getting worried about this! I'm saving up for a hair transplant and liposuction - no way am I blowing it all on a hand brake fault - what was wrong with the old simple handbrakes anyway - why go all electronic on us, fail after a few yeas and cost 2 grand to fix! - My TVR is cheaper to run than this! (shame though it crashes at the first sign of a snow flake or i'd be out in it!)

Check ALL your bulbs are working, brake lights the lot. This can cause issues. Recheck all contacts on sensors. Prob condensation if it v cold outside, followed by putting it in a warm garage. I think you'll be fine, just get sensors dry.

Go over to here:

http://www.disco3.co.uk

All answers to your common problems can be found there.

I have a 2005 Disco 3 HSE and find the advice at Disco3.co.uk an invaluable source of all answers.

My top tailgate has the same fault as yours, there is a guide on how to diagnose and fix there too.

Have fun.

Nige.
