Been looking at a few options for a replacement for the trusty 5 Series (still not entirely convinced that I actually *want* to change it though rolleyes) and one of the things I was looking at was boot size. My E39 has a healthy 460 litres, which is pretty good going for a saloon. The Touareg has 555 litres and the Q7 has 775. I checked the RRS and it seemingly has a gargantuan 958 litres - is that really correct? Visually, I just can't see it being almost a quarter bigger than the Audi??

Edit to clarify that the figures quoted above are what I found on the 'net and were all with seats up.

Dunnoe about the others but it is big for sure. With the seats up, I have no problems getting a set of tyres for the GT3 in the back, side by side, so thats 2x235 & 2x295

Not sure it helps but we chopped in an E46 for the RRS and we just dont even bother packing for holidays any more - open the hatch and chuck whatever you like in

A pal has a Q7 with a roofbox
Whats that all about??

Having said that are you comparing like with like regarding your stats?
Seats up or down and filled to level with glass or not?

Cheers

Those figures are with the seats up. I only had a quick check on whatcar.com so I guess it would be the same method of measurement for each?

I was just surprised that the additional capacity an RRS appears to have over a Q7 - the Audi is big in the back with the 3rd row of seats down (but quite small with them up). The RRS just doesn't look bigger, so perhaps there is a different way of measuring???

With 7 seats up, the Q7 only has space left over for a quad-amputee dacshund, hence the roof box.
