I had a inspection 2 done at a BMW independent on the RR (TD6) yesterday which relieved me of 560 euro. Whilst I expected the bill (including some turbo cover/filter thing replacement recommended on X5s) there were a couple of issues left unresolved.
I chose the BMW indy because ...
1) No LR indy in Dublin
2) I figured the engine/gearbox etc is basically and X5
3) The garage specialises in M Power BMW and know their cars !
Anyway I digress....
The unresolved issues....
1) The Parking sensors are still playing up. They stuck it onto the diagnostics and couldn't 'communicate' with them, which they said could be due to a faulty control centre/box, or their diagnostics simply cannot communicate with it and suggested hooking it up to LR diagnostics.
2) I have mentioned recently that there was a very subtle judder at very low revs. I asked them to investigate and they figured it was a misfire and so ran a 'bleed off test' ? Anyway the results show that one of the cylinders is 20% out ?
So they are the issues, with regard to the PDC I was going to go the LR and ask them to hook it up and see what their diagnostics come up with. Anyone have any other suggestions ?
With regard to the Cylinder issue, I asked if it needed doing, they said it could be done...big job...related to stuck fuel injector...etc. I'm getting rid of the car in next 12mths and they said not to bother. Would anyone agree or is it worth addressing ?
Any help greatly appreciated
