What do you consider high mileage on a RR?
Discussion
As my FFRR S/C is now 4 years old with 78k miles on it, I was mulling over whether I should sell it now before the mileage gets over 100k or just keep it until it dies.
Touch wood, it has never cost me much to maintain beyond the standard services and tyres etc. It's never gone wrong and I still love it.
When you bought yours would you have considered 78k to be a high miler? Would you pay a lot less for a car with this mileage?

I bought a 2004 with 55K miles on it, as I do 20K a year myself
I guess if you do <6K miles a year, then it makes no odds to buy a high mile car
but if you intend to do +20K miles a year yourself then its not so attractive
I have a friend whos got 4 LR/RR, and has done >280K miles in a P38 that he maintains himself....

Mine (2002 petrol) has over 100k, no worries, although of course will be worth less than a car with fewer miles. If yours is still working fine, it seems to make little sense to change it just for the mileage reading. It will cost you to change it in one way or another, whether on trade in, servicing the new car or whatever. If you're doing mega miles and frequently need to change bushes and bearings then it might be a different matter. Hang onto it and enjoy it!

That's what I'm thinking. My Mrs uses it these days so the mileage will probably start to fall.Ruari
As the 2010 model is still silly money, I think I'll wait a couple of years.
Yep, I'd keep it. Unless you're racking up the miles then no point in changing - no reason why that car can't do 200,000+ miles? Maybe consider doing an extra oil change between services, that's the most important factor in keeping an engine running sweet for many miles. My grandad (an engineer) has a 200,000 mile petrol Merc that is testament to that, never missed a beat!
i bought recently a 2002 4.6 v8 petrol with gas conversion and 153000 miles and still good. i personally would never worry about high milage as it must have been looked after to get that high plus something that has not done many miles will have lots of bushing , bearing and such problems for being stood up.
