Considering First RR / Sport

Note this would be a third car so low miles low use but we do need it, we need a van type vehicle on rare occasions but it might be addictive ?

Not sure until I drive both but considering V8 D RR or sport with V8 D - if a no brainer deal is on the cards a 4.2 / 5.0 petrol is also ok

Absolute oldest car would be 2007 - Max spend is £45k what would I get

What update milestones have their been since 2007 - they look very similar to me but Im aware a 2011 model year is a major upgrade and also out of budget

Local delaers are Chester and Liverpool - is one better than another ?

Ok to narrow down the info request

59 RR sport 4.2 sc HSE at £35 31k miles

seems a total bargain - are they cheap JUST because its aa thirsty older model ?

Spec is: (I hate cut and paste spec on dealer sites - hence it has both 19 and 20 inch alloys etc - very lazy)

I have no experience of the bonkers petrol models, but have owned a 58/09 TDV8 RRS and now have a 11plate 4.4 TDv8 FFRR.

They are very different vehicles.

I'd be looking to testdrive versions of both in budget and take it from there.

It is the fact they're petrol version, that makes the prices look like you're getting a lot of for your money.

If low miles, I see no problem with pretol. But if you have a heavy right foot, you might still be spending a lot of time in petrol stations

Thanks, as its my first 4x4 and intended for minimal use Ive decided not to spend much and Im looking at V10 Touregs at £15k ish.

They sound like fun and if I get to like a big vehicle I will look at a RR later on.

DSL the RR Sport had a MAJOR going over for Sept '10. I would stick to these cars only IMHO. Much, much better interior plus a far sexier looking car. The new 3.0 TDV6 is sweet. You should be able to pick up on of these for your budget, as I paid £48k for a brand new HSE 18 months ago. Beware of the very first ones as they had horrid half leather/ half alcantara seats, make sure it has full leather.

You can find a last run TDV8 in the facelift, but the performance nnumbers are near identical, so doesn't make much of a difference, aside costing more for the TDV8.

I had the option if paddle shift on mine, which made it great fun.

In a nutshell the 3.0 TDV6 HSE in facelift is the one to buy

Cheers - the 2009 SC RRs underwhelmed me in the interior dept, they didnt have a 2010 MY on site but i will check one out before I commit
