Anyone here fit CCTV?

A good friend having a nightmare with scumbag neighbors. Stealing stuff, paintstripper on her car (£3500 damage) and then last night a brick through her car window.

Plod cant do anything without proof.

How much for a sensible kit, 2 cameras with sound and a recorder, fitted? NN11 area.

Or a nice kind thug to put the fear of God into them and break their legs! (joking of course)

Hello, neighbour! NN11 is pretty much next door to us (CV23) according to Google maps.

A mate of mine does Alarm and CCTV installs and might be interested in this; I'll try to catch him at t'pub tonight to see how busy he is/if he would be interested.

You might be interested in one of them internet kits (Eagle Eye). I got my DVR from eBay for around £150 and invested a little bit more for the cameras. It's really great as there's a free App on your iPhone to allow you to access your CCTV anytime (provided your CCTV is connected to the internet).

In general, cheap CCTV is useless, you do need to spend a bit to get anything worthwhile - generally low-light sensitivity and infra-red lighting. I would hazard a rough min price of £150 a camera + recorder (£250?) + install?

So many options as well. Most of the cameras are designed for use on Pal / NTSC systems = Old TV resolutions.

Your typical GoPro camera is far better equipped resolution wise etc, but lacks the IP connectivity the more general solutions offer.

Minefield really. Speak to the Pro's on this for usable 'culprit catching' evidence.

I've got one of Henry's (CCTV42) DVR's - I'm very happy with it.
As above spend £100-150 on camera's (read his guides - they are very good)
