My website has been "soft" launched while it has any teething problems sorted out by the developer. Can i ask you to visit the website and have a good look around and let me know what you find that isn't right?
Also submit your own review for the street that you live in. All criticism will be used to make the site better.

Thank you

What does it do? Not very clear. Why would I want to use it?

Seems perfectly clear to me.

You're comsidering moving house and simply type in the street name or postcode of the property and get reviews on the area from other people.

Like the idea, I'll try to have a play today but my first thoughts are

1) Let people login using thee email address people forget usernames.
2) Once I've logged in take me to the area I'm likely to use most.
3) I've entered a postcode and its found the address but I can't see how to write a review.
4) On the review page http://www.streetreviewuk.com/area/north-east/nort... I'd want the post code in the normal SEO postions as I'd probably google both the town name and the postcode if moving.

I typed my postcode in to see what happened - the info wrongly stated my address as Kent (it is in London) so you may want to look at how you are sorting your locations out.

Smiler.

Same. Slough has not been in Bucks for many a year.

The population for my town is 10 fold what it actually is.

The images for "your move" etc should be links (affiliated)

I think the whole principle is flawed.

No one is going to give a bad review for their own street and make it look bad and potentially have a negative affect on house values.

You do realise that some people rent houses?

I think its a great idea to be honest, just remember that once you get the website perfect almost all of your money will go towards marketing, so if I was you look for people who are willing to pay for advertisement and that might help you out.

Hmmm I guess.

I think the key will be moderation of reviews. Would be too easy for neighbours who don't get on to bad mouth each other, or for someone who is about to sell there house to really talk up the area. If the site was to get a reputation for abuse then all trust goes out the window.

Could easily see it being a big success though. I imagine if it takes off it'll be prime for one of the big property portals to snap it up too.

Get more links on the home page. The twitter heading should be a link to the feed, the "latest reviews" should take me to a page with more etc.

Thank you for all of your feedback. The website has been soft launched as i said and is still getting things added and changed, we have rectified the problem where some areas say they are some place that they should be! the idea of the website it in the long run for people to use this information when considering moving house, it will have statistics such as crime, average tax, house prices school grades etc... It is a big website and it was just launched yesterday so we are just trying to find any problems and fix them as soon as possible before we go onto advertising. I hope you like it and leave a review! (people have already left negative comments about the street they live in so we can rule that point out).

Oh yeah and in a few weeks we should have Facebook and Twitter as a login and share option, so not only can you register but you can sign in using social media. It lacks information at present but it will be getting added in the very near future!

Site looks good, you might be on to something with it. Still needs work, (but you know that) lots of people have ideas for websites but never get them off the ground, just getting this far is great start.

Put my postcode in and it gives the correct location however the population is way out - it says over a a million but my village is only about 800 so definitely need some investigation.

It's because it still thinks its showing population for the whole county. It's being worked out as we speak.
