Some advice required on shipping to Eire (Kildare), it's an order placed on our Website & paid by credit card.

Eire don't use post codes do they? So no post code check on card authourisation? Are we exposing ourselves to risk, it's a £600 order at low margin, we'll have to subsidise delivery by 50%, tempted to bin it.

We don't take many orders on our site so maybe thats partly why we're a little hesitant.

Eire / Rep Ireland is classed as any other overseas country, not many couriers deliver their (for a good price anyway) but send it tracked if you do decide to go ahead

The courier isn't an issue & it would be tracked/signed for, it's been a fair while since we last shipped 'overseas' & not sure where we stand with credit card claw backs etc if it turns out to be fraudulent. It appears to be an indivividual rather than a Company or business which makes it harder.

Check out Nightline see what they can do for you. Hermes delivery to Eire via nightline so could go through hermes too and opt for the larger insurance.

The courier is sorted, just concerned about claw backs on the card transaction, if shipping within UK & the address is verified then there is no issue, not sure about Eire especially with no post code to verify?

The Irish Republic does not have national post codes but a couple of the bigger cities/towns do. I lived in Dublin 13.

If it's being paid online via your website, you should have 3D secure features in place which secures the transaction over and above address and postcode.
