I'm after a website and email for my wife, nothing fancy, have a logo ready, just really after a nice neat holding page with contact details and email hosting.

How much should I look to pay for something like that, or should I just go down the 123 reg route?

Any help welcome. Cheers.

Do you use a mac?

Rapidweaver is excellent for this type of thing. If fact, you can knock out a simple one page site looking smart in a hour or so.

I do have a mac.

That would solve the website bit, what about buying and hosting the e-mail? I doubt she'll have many emails, she only works 1 or 2 days a week, so there's not likely to be a lot of traffic.

If you don't want a full on email server (TSOHost) then something like google

Have you a domain yet?

Domain plus hosting will set you back a tenner for (a co.uk) domain for 2 years, and around a fiver a month for 20Gb of traffic and enough hosting space. You won't get near that, but it's probably the smallest package available.

That will also bag you anyemail@yourdomain.co.uk. This is really handy when sites ask you for emails, as you can then put sitename@yourdomain.co.uk - so you know *exactly* who has sold your email address off if you start getting emails from anyone else but them! Also easy to add a filter rule to the bin if necessary.

I've used One.com in the past and never had a problem. The first year is about £10 all-in, and about £24 per year after that.

They have templates too which might be useful for you - I've never used them but the look quite good.

Has wordpress hosting too.

Good value IMO
