How would one go about opening a very small call centre and what are the rules and regs?

Could I simply arrange a phone line and start calling people ? Where would I get numbers from ?

Yes its cold calling, but would I be doing anything illegal if I started calling people and offering them something for free ?

Would it be possible to target specify housing areas?

Cheers.

Outsource it. Unless you are/have a dedicated sales manager you don't want to be fannying around managing a team of disinterested phone monkeys. They also would have access to data and will know the rules. Plus if it doesn't work out you've got staff and premises to deal with.

We used a wee one in Greenock which might does stuff for green deal type work, might be worth speaking to them.

Would appreciate details mate. They would phone around all day, working off which every script I gave them?

Is this something the wife could trial from home for a few weeks first to see whether it generates leads?

Exactly, although unless your mrs has experience and enjoys it I'd get them doing a trial rather than her.

Personally I can think of several better/cheaper ways to self generate leads but as that's my business you'd need to get your chequebook out. smile

01475 786140 ask for Kate and tell her Alan @ Sole Media referred you.

Thanks Alan,

Im sure our paths have crossed before, the company name rings a bell.

We are generating a lot at the minute, but Ive maybe spotted a opportunity to take our rewiring side of things to the next level.

Wouldn't mind a chat about your ideas some time.

I'm sure we spoke once a couple of years ago, plus I keep seeing your vans everywhere lol.

If you PM me your number I'll give you a heads up on what you should expect to pay if you go down the telesales route. Leave off phoning them and I should be able to get you a better rate.
