Had a bad run on ebay and got hammered on item not as described due to a spec error on a really popular item (software function - not obvious)

Sent my main account to below standard

Lost 50% sales straight off

Pulled it round by selling a shed load of batteries sent normal unsigned for post so it goes through a letter box and sold them very cheaply - lost £80 on 100 orders but its pulled me round for 20/6 review

Pain in the arse but we make profit so need to keep it up

Did anyone claim they haven't received their batteries? Just wondering.

About 5%, we sent them new ones! we sent a shipping email saying if not arrived in 3 days please use this email to let us know - so they don't open a case.

eBay is ridiculous these days

We include a packing slip upon is our customer service email address, this address is not published anywhere else, we receive the odd email to it claiming their item as not arrived.

We simply ask where they got our email address from, most don't reply, the others we play with for a while

Some advice

If you afford to, do not rely on ebay alone for an income. The days of being an ebay millionaire are over. All you are now is a tax collector.

It's a lovely idea but do the eBay judges buy it?

No, never even bothered to try you would never get ebay to side with you without online proof of delivery but it makes me feel better when I've got a thief wriggling, 95% that have contacted us by that method are never heard from again, the threat of forwarding their email to our "non existent" ebay account manager is usually enough to silence the rest, the ones that do persist either go away or leave us a neg, we never buy feedback.

I think the phrase then is 'Pyrrhic victory'; you still lose, but prove they are liars.

Not sure I agree, if we rolled over and refunded as far too many do just to buy feedback then yes I would agree however as we keep the payment in 95% of cases I'm not so sure its a Pyrrhic victory, I would argue exactly the opposite.
