We've been invited to tender for some work under the NEC3 suite of contracts. Have had a Google, but there diesn't seem to be a great deal online.

Anyone have any pointers as to what to look out for, or any resources or comments?

what type of work are you being asked to tender under NEC3? that will help for a starter.

It's engineering maintenance work on pressure-containing equipment. Does that help?

Yes it did. I was wondering if anyone had personal experience of the contracts before I go all-out and spend £100 on what will, in all likelihood, be a one-off quote.

I've not used the contract as part of a service agreement, I've only used it as part of a construction contract for individual projects.

Its a bit of a pain to have to buy it for potentially 1 tender, but from memory there were a few terms/conditions/ clauses that needed a bit more understanding than normal on our construction project. Suppose it all depends on the value of the tender, eg if its small value you may need to just suck it up and accept the T&C's (client probably not gonna waste time agreeing special conditions for small value works) however if it was a high value contract I'd be making sure I read the contract right before signing up to just incase I got stiffed (but then again thats my job)

But if someone was asking me to tender works I would provide them a copy of the contract with tender documents. So maybe worth speaking to the client and seeing if they have a copy? I always issue my T&C's with any tender document.

What contract is it?

Lots of experience here with Option A and C, as a QS effectively administering on behalf of the contract PM.
