Market research

Could anyone help..
How would I get some market research on the property market in the UK, other than the land register ?
Age of the properties? Anyway to access information about the properties sold ? Get info from home reports or even a small data capture of 30 or so reports for my area ?

Land registry is a good start. That'll give you sold house prices.
You could then look at the EPC register, if you're lucky and a proper energy assessor has done one it can be informative.
Land registry eservices lets you pay £3 for title register, £3 for title plan and £9 for flood risk indicator.
You can also get copy of deeds for £7.

If it's large amounts of aggregated data you're after, the government has actually been pretty good at making this happen: http://data.gov.uk/data/search
