Hi everyone, this is my first post as I am Mrs Savaloy!

Do you think there is a market for me to set up a web based/telephone consultancy to help people find work?
ie put together CV’s & covering letters, completing application forms, preparing for interviews & assessment centres, even finding jobs to apply for. Any age, any background. Individuals would have a “buffet” menu to choose from and pay accordingly.

I am currently HR Director for a SME and have been in personnel for 12 years and feel I want to use my skills & experience to help people rather than line the pockets of my boss!!

Any thoughts or advice gratefully received. Have any of you used or would like to use these sort of services?

Welcome to the boards.

Don't know much about the industry but I would have thought some of the larger online agencies probably offer something similar as part of their packege?

Perhaps it's something you could do with tie-ins with a number of small agencies? ie. work for yourself but arrange deals with smaller agencies to promote work both ways.

Just my 2p.

Good luck,

Iain

Hi Groomi

Thanks for your suggestions - you're right thinking about it, agencies have this sort of thing as part of their services but I want to try and offer something bespoke to each individual I deal with, so there may be some mileage in it.

I'm going to explore the tie-ins idea (thanks!).

If you need any help groomi email me!

I've done some work with displaced people in companies, typically helping them present themselves at interview better. With employemnt as it is just now it isn't really a buyers market so there may not be as much perceived need as there would be if there were 3 mill on the old rock and roll.

If you decide to go forward and want some help with interview coaching, drop me a mail off line
