Hi all

We use iMail to print and post all our mailings, typically at the beginning of each month. They give them to Royal Mail who do the final mile I guess, but not too sure.

Anyway, I used iMail to send on a 2 day delivery some post on 1st Sept at 6am. They only really arrived on 11th/12th of the month.

iMail (who is UKMail) say that they have had lots of issues this month with RM having hold ups, backlogs and delays etc.

Anyone else experienced this? I have now a raft of customers who are unhappy as they have 14 days to settle invoices, and didn't get the invoices until day 11 or 12!

Thanks

Posting things on the first day after a bank holiday often leads to a delay and it is getting worse each bank holiday IME

AIUI royal mail has a last in first out policy with mail at its centres. As the volume of internet parcels is more on the Tuesday after a bank holiday (3 days worth rather than the 2 of a normal weekend), it isn't uncommon that the whole day's mail doesn't get cleared before Wednesday's arrives. Wednesday's then gets done before the remnants of Tuesdays and, if it doesn't get done on Wednesday, Thursday's gets done before Tuesday's too etc.

I suspect imail's stuff might get pushed even further down the pile by some people in the sorting office....

Don't post on the Tuesday after a bank holiday would be my advice

& to add to the above, it doesn't help when the dumb fkers decide to release a new online system which misses off half the address! I suspect they have millions of packages to sort with incomplete address details on them. Royal FAIL.
