Services tracking software
Discussion
I had an idea for an app earlier this year after speaking to one of the missus friends who owned a small business. She loved the idea and said if I build it, she will sign up. So, fast forward a couple of months and sadly her situation changed - no fault of her own and is now not in the market for this app.
The app itself still has a place in the market and I am planning to pursue this with other organizations.
The core of the app is essentially a services tracker - you manage customers, visits, scheduling, rota management, booking on/off, invoicing, payroll etc. It's cloud based and has a responsive UI that works perfectly on a mobile device too. A native app for iOS could also be possible.
My question is, is there a market for this? I know there are competitors out there, but I could chuck this out here and charge a modest price £~10 per user per month) and still have all my costs covered.
Another option would be giving it away for free, which would allow me to atleast prove the core functionality of the app and my more specialized idea. Has anyone ever done this then tried to move to a payment model?
