Anyone on the new van sales industry here? Looking on the SMMT website new van sales have increased over 100% in recent years- is this all down to the e-commerce/home delivery market?

Don't think the increase could be attributed only to one reason; for instance, a couple of years ago the government opened the Start Up Loans applications to any age of applicant, so there's probably a good number of new businesses with new vans which have started up through that finance.

What time period is "recent years"? They fell off a lot with the banking crisis in 2008.

From memory it was a rolling annual total up from 150,000 units to 350,000 in the space of four years to June 2015. I think.

Royal Mail ditched all their pushbikes and invested in a lot of new vans, which would have been in order of tens of thousands.

I think you might have seen the graph on the SMMT website but it doesn't make a lot of sense. The low point for van sales was 2009 and the number was around 220K.

But it was 338K in 2007, so even now it's not much more than recovering those levels.
