Vehicle contract hire - margin/bargaining power
Discussion
Sorry, wasn't sure if this should be business or commercial vehicles. I'm looking (99% certain it's the right thing) to get a double cab pick-up for the business. I'm really not fussed about owning it, so will likely go with contract hire.
To be fair, Ford seem to be doing a deal in the right ball park for me, but I wondered how much room to wriggle they have, I don't necessarily want to take his first number. I know from comparison to other vehicles we've looked at it's stacking up, and it's a reasonable price, but obviously if I can squeeze it down a touch more I'd like to - anyone know if they typically have a bit of room to manoeuvre these days?

On your average deal, probably no margin for negotiating whatsoever. If you go into a dealership to contract hire a vehicle and get a quotation based on that vehicle without looking anywhere else then the chances are you're going to pay more money even if you do get them to make any of the elements cheaper. In short, my advice would be to look online for the best deal because at the end of the day the car is going to be exactly the same regardless of supplying dealer and finance co.
Edit: if you know what spec of vehicle you want and have a quote from the dealer already (deposit + number of monthly payments at £xxx.xx + any other fees), why don't you post those 2 things up and we can tell you if we can find a better deal?

Definitely look online! I am in the same boat, looked at the Ranger Wildtrack and the contract hire deals are not bad at the moment. I got the best deal I found online and went to my local and they were surprisingly able to match it. In the end I held back for the facelift model to come out in Q1 next year, much better spec and looks imho if you are not in a mega hurry!
