Hi guys

I spend at least 80% of my time on the road typically visiting 5-7 clients a day to service the accounts they have with me and then have an admin day most weeks to catch up on all the paperwork this generates which is usually typing up presentations from my notes taken at the meetings.

At present I have a 3g ipad which I use to keep on top of emails & diary etc but would like to be more productive in between meetings (typically this is 20-30 minute breaks where a pre booked meeting went quicker than anticipated or was re-arranged).

I have a laptop at the moment but find it awkward to use in the car and the time availble means going to the local costa wouldnt be worth it ao I was looking at something like a surface pro with windows running on it so I would do work in the car.

What do others do or find useful to them?

Headlamp flashers. Sunglaases. Nothing says "im on my way to a sales meeting" better then these two.

If you can find the rest of "comic strip presents" well worth watching

I don't have one but I would be looking at something like a Surface Pro which is a potential laptop replacement.

Thanks, yes I am looking at the surface pro at the moment, it looks great but not cheap so want to be sure I am making the right choice.

PC world advise they offer no returns unless it is faulty which is a shame as Apple are very good with this and let you have 14 days with no quibble return policy. I think I may try to find somewhere I could buy a Surface pro on the same basis

It's kind of ridiculous but I would look at buying anything of value online where I wasn't sure simply because distance selling regs should make it a lot simpler if you wanted to return it (look into exact T&Cs).

On the high street John Lewis may be worth a look.

Blackberry Passport - big for a phone, but usable screen and real keyboard make it usable as a laptop alternative for short periods of time or when jammed in a busy train.

I concur. It's a great piece of kit.

I have a surface pro 3 - it's good BUT it's not great to use in laptop mode unless you have a proper table to rest it on. I understand the Pro 4 set up is better, but as you need the kickstand to balance it I cant see it ever being great when balanced on the knees. It's pretty good as a tablet, but again some windows desktop apps are difficult to operate as the icons/buttons are too small in that mode.
