We are days away from putting in an offer on 4 x holiday cottages, they have been vacant/unused for 4 years.

Each one as its own electric supply, what would be the best way to purchase electricity? There will be 4 meters so that will be 4 separate standing charges?

The cottages are in their own terrace of 4, they have to be holiday less with a maximum single occupancy of 3 months in any 12 so as not to be used as long term residential lets.

The power supply keeps popping up in my thoughts, what's the best aproach? Have new card meters fitted and we sell cards? Just thinking out aloud.

Open to any advice you can give.

If I was to rent a holiday cottage I wouldnt be expecting to pay for leccy ontop.

Would put a bit of a downer on the holiday before it even started.

Just add a % onto the rental, and forget about it, there is only so much someone can use over a weekend/week.

Provide readings, get bill, pay it.

Monthly, quarterly, annually, whichever frequency the energy company and yourself agree.

Stop press,

The reason for my question was the supply was going to be split to each property new cables laid & meter box for each one, I was under the impression the supply had already been terminated.

I have just found out the supply is still live and they are all still able to be supplied from the one existing meter, so it's one standing charge that will do nicely.
