Just wondering if anyone here uses/used nochex as their payment gateway?

Setting up a website to compliment my ebay store but not going down the merchant account and payment processor route until I have some decent revenue coming in and want an option other than paypal.

Yeah used them for a while a few years back. They were OK, then they fked up big time so we dropped them. Some coding issues caused a major fk up for us that they denied was their fault (by memory). Now Google Checkout has gone they are about the only other similar thing other than Pay Pal. BTW we noticed no difference in sales when we offered Nochex, Pay Pal & GC as payment options vs just Pay Pal.

Try Stripe..

I have a merchant account (Worldpay), but I'm using Stripe mostly now as it's just a bit easier, and they have better integration for web stores.

You can set up an account in about 30 seconds, I've had no problems so far.

Thanks for the reply but other than the coding issue they done the job?
I agree that other than paypal and nochex there aren't many options, which I find strange with so many small ecommerce companies popping up.

I sell jewellery so need 3D secure as want to reduce potential fraud as much as possible, which is something stripe don't offer.

Pay Pal Pro will do this and has a hosted solution now so easy to integrate. Re: NOCHEX, yep it did the job but when the screw up happened it was affecting live sites, not good! It was enough for us to drop them as the feedback during & after the incident just wasn't good enough. If you are selling expensive items(?)then you really want something that looks like you accept cards on YOUR domain rather than been taken to a 3rd party payment page IMO.

Hi Dave ST220. Sounds like we screwed-up, though without knowing more about the circumstances I can't really comment. Thousands of merchants are using Nochex all the time, and for the vast majority everything seems to work fine. The nature of the beast is that sometimes things do go wrong and obviously we will try and fix things straightaway (as it is in our interest to do so). But, sometimes, things just don't work out, which we're clearly sorry about. At least we are fairly easy to reach on the phone if you do need to bawl someone out!
