On the recommendation of my accountant, in connection with some specific work, I am on the phone to KPMG for the second time in a week. I left my details last week and no one has returned my call. Today has been much the same but I've been promised that someone will call back this time...definitely.... though the person I was speaking to was in Manchester, I'd been transferred with no introduction from London and I'd called the number for my local office in the Midlands.

I called PWC yesterday. Three times. Which is the same number of times that the telephonist cut me off whilst trying to find someone who'd take my call. I have yet to call them back.

EY has closed its local office. The next nearest is the other side of the country.

Fingers crossed for Deloitte... I think I need lunch to bolster my reserves before I call...

I think it's pretty hard to get them out of bed for any contract worth less than £100k.

Paul, check your emails. I've put you in touch with one of my fellow partners at PwC.

A regional firm should be able to help with this.
