Afternoon folks smile

Hope everyone is looking forward to the festive break biggrin

I'm trying to develop a new product, and have found a manufacturer who can construct what I'm after, but I need to source some water filling caps that can be heat welded into a material. Essentially what I'm making is a custom water bag for a particular purpose.

They can be clip lids, screw lids, anything, just need to be a non-leaking water filling point. Pic below to illustrate what I'm after...

If anyone can supply, or point me in the right direction, that'd be super.

Cheers

Jon

You don't seem to be getting any replies, so I've got a few suggestions if you don't mind?. First you may be able to get a limited run 3D printed. There's a few people on PH who can do that for you. For more you'd probably need to get them injection moulded, the problem there is the moulds can cost a tidy sum I've seem approx $2000 for a simple one, they rely on economies of scale to reduce the price.

Only other avenue is a China trader, I've had a quick skim through the two main sites (Alibaba.com and Aliexpress.com) but although loads have lids not many have the part it fits on to. The best I could come up with is a threaded pipe through with a screw on cap. The only other one that may be of use is this company:

http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/custom-plast...

Presumably they make the sample on the assumption of getting a larger order later. Not had any dealings with any of these myself. A Ph'er by the name of MaserSpider is probably the go to man for dealing with China Traders. I hope he won't mind me recommending him?

Oh you don't actually say in your post what size they are although they look approx 50 mm opening. I they're larger then maybe IBC fittings would work? You will also need to specify food grade plastic if you're using them for that purpose.

Thanks for your reply smile

Was hoping there'd be somewhere that did things like that off the shelf biggrinbiggrin

Hole size isn't too important, 38mm-55mm would cater for most garden hoses and filling apparatus, and they're to be used outdoors, so food grade is not required.

I'll have another flick through Alibaba smile
