In short, two USD cheques paid into my USD account at Barclays on 19/01/16, both drawn on the same account at Chase NYK. Told at time they take 4 - 6 weeks to clear due to international money laundering regulations.

First cheque for $xx clears into my account on 04/03/16, no sign of second cheque for $xxxx, Barclays confirm it is in the system 'somewhere'. I have confirmation from Chase Nyk that they wired the second, larger amount, to their international handling agent who is Deutsche Nyk on 07/03/16.

Barclays have chased Deutsche for the funds twice through the Swift system but have had no feedback. Chase say they have released the funds to DB (I have proof of the wire transfer) and they should be with us. Neither bank seems to be able to offer an explanation as to why the funds havn't credited the account nor seem able to put any pressure on DB.

I fail to see why DB are sitting on the funds and am lost as to how to follow this up. Both banks reply seems to be just to wait !

Any advice appreciated, especially with the end of the tax year approaching rapidly !

Took c. 8 weeks for similar via HSBC for me. Was told that all correspondence between banks is done on paper , including posting exchange rates. Very frustrating.
