Hi folks

A friend is looking to move some cars to USA from UK as part of a hobby which I have agreed to help him with. Hopefully we will at least break even, and possibly make a little profit! I have a few questions.

Does anyone have any recommended logistics providers to move a car from my house (central UK) to East Coast USA?
For those who have done it how have you found RoRo compares to containerisation?
Does the car have to be road registered in the UK with a valid MoT prior to shipment?
Does the car have to be registered in USA upon arrival?
Does anyone have any recommended logistics company in USA to move the cars 200-300 miles in land?

Appreciate any help

Thanks

Matt

one of the most difficult thing you've missed off is getting hold of a 'certificate of conformity' for each vehicle,
you need this document to get the vehicle out of the docks (US side) a bit of google'ing may show hard these are to obtain from certain manufacturers

In the film Gone in Sixty Seconds, Memphis Raines was putting the cars straight into the containers without any paperwork tongue out

We ship cars all over the world.

The stuff we do is high end, so we container everything, sticking them on deck is cheaper but has higher risks.

We use Kingstown Shipping in Hull, they've been very good.

IIRC the USA is very tight on conformity, in general unless it is over 25 years old you need to be looking at new or near new. Electrical work is likely required because their wiring and lighting regulations are different.
