If I wanted to register a limited company and wanted a specific date of incorporation, can this be achieved, or does your registration go in a queue and get done on whatever date it is by the time they get round to it?

Usually happens on the date the application is made.

This is one area that I know a little about - when the company numbers tipped over 10,000,000 I incorporated a load of companies in an attempt to hit the round number.

You can submit an online request to incorporate a new company. Once the form has been completed and the fee paid the application goes into a queue to be dealt with by companies house. Around the time of the 10m number the lead time was about a day and a half. They don't work weekends so Monday is a bit longer as they deal with the longer queue that built up over the weekend.

They also offer a same day registration service for a larger fee. You can turn up at the companies house office in London and they will incorporate the company while you wait. This will be your best bet to guarantee the date of incorporation.

I didn't manage to hit the 10,000,000 number but am sitting on a load of 9,999,9XX and 10,000,0XX numbers!
