Cardell Media Website & Internet Marketing Solution?
Discussion
http://www.cardellmedia.com/
I've done various searches on here and the web and historically I can see a number of issues / complaints about the way this guy ran his early marketing campaigns. Thing is I can't see anything recent about his latest service "Cardell Media Website & Internet Marketing Solution". Basically, his 'crack team' redesign your website, host it, redesign your twitter, FB and LinkedIn pages, and write monthly content for them. They also produce website videos etc. All of this for 'one great low monthly price' etc etc
My Sales Director is pushing me towards this solution, but my alarm bells are ringing, his website content does not make me want to read it and the whole thing just stinks of “snake oil, buy it now, two for the price of one, and you'd be stupid not to take advantage of this one time offer”.
I'm a reasonable bloke so don't want to rely on (my potentially incorrect) gut feel, but I can't find anything unbiased (i.e. not from his site), relevant or recent relating to this service. I'd like to have the information to be able to make a rational judgement - does anybody have any experience of this service?

Any company that sells using techniques like that is the same, you see them all over the internet, it is psychological selling pushing buttons without actually telling you what you are buying, of course it is snake oil...
Ask yourself why anyone is putting on a free seminar for 25 businesses unless they intend to make lots of money at the event, of course it won't end up being free...
The reality is that lots of businesses can change and improve what they do online
But, marketing / selling etc. Is very simple in concept and no different online to offline, ie make it simple, demonstrate the benefit, give a reason to buy, put the offer in front of the client, etc. etc.
You don't need clever magic tricks, however it does need hard work time, money and commitment and that is what most businesses won't do...
Ask yourself whether those who are selling successfully online are for using on his methods? Nike, Amazon, etc.? All the successful eCommerce companies I know, none of them doing anything other than hard work and investing money in marketing...
This approach is the same as those stickers you see on cars saying earn £100k a month working from home (always on a Kia, not a Ferrari!) They sell you a methodology to avoid hard work, I.e just buy this method off us for xxxxx and the money will roll in, nope building businesses is hard work, investment of money and a little bit of luck...
You have to ask which is better, fitting your business into a standardised pattern or spending the time to understand how your business is unique and what it needs to do to grow... We spend a lot of time with clients doing the latter, the biggest difficulty is not in understanding how a business needs to change and grow, it is in persuading a business to put the time and money into it... In all walks of life people want a quick fix and will pay for it, it is rarely the right choice in growing a business...
A website with a lot of clever wording and no actual substance...

I completely agree with you, that's why I'm looking for evidence of performance or complaint. I want something tangible to respond to my Sales Director with, not just gut feel.
What's really worrying me is that my Sales Director has proposed this in the first place - that is causing me sleepless nights.

Thanks, I'd spotted these ones and was hoping for something as relevant but recent. Your link is much appreciated.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
To provide some balance on this. TBH its a common practice that is appealing to many businesses, essentially productising digital marketing. Yes you could customise your strategy etc but many businesses barely 'get' marketing let alone want to understand a customisable strategy irrespective of how important it is. TBH these packages could then lead on to businesses going the custom route.
Events like this are common in all sectors and everyone knows that it's a learning experience AND a sales pitch. I've run the marketing for events which attracted thousands of people like this every year (business owners). They all know the deal.

Hi,
Not sure if this too late to stop your boss from committing to Cardell Media's Internet help. The first question to ask yourself is whey don't you see any bad reviews about Chris Cardell? It's because he actively monitors any bad ones and gets them removed.
I have and still am a member of Chris Cardell's month VIP newsletter. Have been for over 10 years now. I bought his Ultimate Marketing Course and made some significant changes in my business by implementing the stuff in that course. We read his monthly newsletter cover to cover. We listen into his free phone in seminars. We think the they are pretty good. He does deliver them well.
Last year (March 2016) my wife got excited by Chris's offer to get your web site assessed and become part of their development programme. We completed an online form. We got a call from someone in the US - a hard sell. They told us we would increase our business 7 fold in a year. We would be guinea pigs that was going to be a £50,000 programme. But we would get it for £5,000 for 12 one hour mentor sessions. I asked them where they were based as I knew Chris Cardell did/still does live in California, they said Utah. They wanted the payment that day so we could join the programme on the following Monday. We paid £6K (including VAT) and then they sent the welcome letter. It was from Cardell Media dot com. The web address and phone number were for a company called Elsmentor. I searched on the web and found lots of bad stuff about them and the mentor they had allocated to me Kris Duering (who I found offering his services for $15 dollars an hour). I asked for a refund on the same day. They took 6 weeks to pay me back. I have been contacted by a lady in Devon who did the course. The tutor failed to turn up for the calls and did not give proper coaching advice. She took ten weeks to get a refund. She told me she was afraid to complain about Chris Cardell.
