So I have been with TSOhost for over a decade but am not happy.

Specifically webmail.

Firstly I can't sync their webmail to my phone properly. I set it all up as I should and whilst I can read emails I cannot send them from the phone. So I just stopped doing this.

The worst bit for the last year or so is that around 90% of the emails I send don't show up to reciever. I don't get a bounce message, they just don't turn up!

I even gave an associate a webmail address on the same server and domain as my email address, so xx@xxx.com to yy@xxx.com and have sent the same email 5 times this week and it hasn't shown up.

I email support and they tell me there is nothing wrong, they can't find a problem etc. Pretty useless.

Also lately their payment processor is also broken. I have set it to renew monthly and every month it no longer renews, if I try it manually it rejects the credit card, but paypal works...with the same credit card. Again I messaged them...apparently its my fault or my banks fault due to my card (which works EVERYWHERE ELSE) being faulty. I tried a different card on a different bank and same problem.

Lately I have been relying on email a lot and I don't want to use Gmail, Google is bad enough, if I search for something like "christmas crackers" a month later I get emails to my nothing-to-do-with-google, private domained email address, with affiliate links to where I can buy christmas crackers. So I definetly don't want Google reading me emails!

Can anyone recommend a decent isp that is as good as tsohost but where their email actually works?

Thanks

Vidahost's (TSO sister) email is fine - I use it on 4 domains. Mine is set to go through a hosted email scanner for inbound and outbound because I wanted to DKIM sign anything going out and filter any crap coming in.

Mine is all set to IMAP, and on each client (4 computers, 1 phone and a tablet) I pick it up over non SSL (ie I'm using mail.mydomain.co.uk rather than gridhost)

Even a stty domain without the DKIM signing and spam filtering still gets and received email

What seems to be the problem, that you're using something like Squirrelmail or Roundcube and it's not sending/receiving? There should be some record of the transaction happening somewhere or a DSN

I'd try if you're using gridhost as the mail server, just using mail.yourdomain.whatever and check that your phone isnt trying to use like an ISPs smtp server before going much further.

(there are loads of email hosts who will take your money, but it sounds like an end user problem rather than a provider one)

Another vote for Office365. It's reasonably priced, scalable and includes both web access and a full set of Office desktop software. Switched to it a couple of years ago and haven't looked back.

If you want working email pay Google or Microsoft for Google Apps or Office365.

They're enterprise, they work, £4/month lets you get on with life.

If this is happening, it's nothing to do with google. I'd do a full virus/malware scan if I were you, or better yet a full wipe.

And totally agree with this.

Hi. Adam here from Tsohost. I've been meaning to join Pistonheads for a while and your post has provided the impetus so thanks for that smile

Sorry to hear you're having problems. If you can give me your support ticket ID or even just your domain name I will find your account and take a look. One of the ways we differentiate ourselves over the likes of Google and Microsoft is support so I apologise if we've let you down.

I have done that. I have Nod32 and MalwareBytes premium along with Hitman pro etc, they all come up clean with the exception of the usual tracking cookies.
