Motor Traders Insurance - reccomendations?

So following buying and selling a family friends car last week I've decided to start buying and selling the odd car, perhaps one a month to help fund house deposit, I have the knowledge and equipment to do repairs and a pretty good eye for a lemon, but one thing I'm struggling with is a sensible quote for insurance, my current ins. co. want to basically have a new policy for every vehicle (their system can't cope with me putting a second car on, has to be a second policy, apart from temp 24hr cover, which is a PITA to setup every time)

So looking now at a traders policy, seems a sensible option, but the first quote I've got was over £1000

Anyone any recommendations?

29 years old, 5 years NCB, clean license

So far I've tried Adrian Flux due in part to the PH "association & member discount" & it's google ranking, but I was somewhat unimpressed by that price!
