Hi all

We send out invoices to our customers on a stand alone system. Customers currently can pay by cheque or online bank transfer. What I am looking to do is set up a page that has embedded a paypal payment gateway.

Question is:

Can I do this so that people can just be given a link to the page, they go to it and make a payment with their invoice number as a reference (that they have inputted), and I just then tick it off our other system when I get notification of payment received?

If so, can anyone point me in the direction of the info needed? I know google is out there but it relies on me having the terminonology down, which at the moment, I do not.

Thanks

We use PayPal invoices. When you send the invoices, the email has a link to click to pay.

Is there a reason you want to set up a website?

That sounds like what I am after. Do you have a link for more information?

We have a website already but I was thinking of a new page that accepts payments. What you suggest could get around this

Thanks!

You could just log into your Paypal account and use the 'Request Money' feature. You could add the order details/ref to it. That may be what jbswagger means.

Paypal have recently been pushing invoicing by email as a separate service. I assume that's what jbswagger is talking about. They're also pushing taking payments by phone, that is using Paypal as a 'customer not present' terminal as you would with other merchant accounts but there is a monthly fee.

The only problem you may have with integrating paypal into a website is if that website is written in wordpress. These two webpages might give you some help in that direction if you need it.

Depends how automated you want to be.

My Zinc card system allows face to face, telephone order and email invite to pay for no monthly cost, just a small % fee against payment.

Perfect for my low number transactions.
