Mobile Credit Card Reader

Anyone help on this;

I need a short term (3 months) use of a portable way of taking car payments, mostly we should have Wi-Fi but not a given, so probably need to work on 3/4G as well.

It's for a merchandise stall on a theatre tour, so no high ticket items, probably not even a huge turnover but we've lost sales before by not offering this.

I see that Paypal offer something suitable, and I can easily get an old iPhone up and running with a PAYG data Sim, but anything else around ?

The original is iZettle - I've never used it other than as a consumer (I pay my sons childcare every week with it) and it's easy and very fast to use. The childcare provider loves it too and apparently is cheaper than PayPal's offering.

If you're considering iZettle, you should also look at SumUp (I use neither but heard bad things about how iZettle handle dodgy payments/cards)

I use iZettle. I don't have any experience with other providers but have no issues at all with iZettle and they have a nice web dashboard too where you can see your sales and add products. Their machines also take Apple pay/contactless which may be useful if it's low value transactions. Works fine on 3G and Wi-Fi.

Has the advantage of being a card terminal service, pay by email and a cash transaction processor.
