Hi All,

Our business is in the process of dividing off it's development arm from the core business due to the increase in demand for this service. We find it will be easier to market both independent. Specifically this demand is coming from SMEs looking to automate processes within their business through the use of Digital solutions. Something the FTSE 250 et al have been doing for a long time.

This is a great section of PH with a wealth of knowledge so I thought I would garner opinion on what the average SME wants from this type of organisation? We normally deal at Director/Owner level so any opinions are welcome.

As a starter is it:

Price? Ideas? Communications? Face to Face meetings? SLAs?

Ha. From my experience the average SME wants "to make the pain go away". They don't really know much more than that, other than that they are sure things could be more efficient. Quite often I have found there are fundamental process issues which automation itself won't solve, rather the process of automating allows for the process to be straightened out.

So personally I would cant your offering towards the business side of things and keep the technical side very light - lead on a business process review and move on from there.
