As the title really I need new business cards. Wondering if anyone on here does them or knows a good company. Don't want any of the vista print ones etc.

http://www.event-print.co.uk/ - Oliver, he's a Pistonheader and will probably be along shortly. If I recall, his handle is Lexual or something like that.

Moo are horrifically expensive for exactly the same quality product with some nice branding on the box.

Only use them if you're desperate for one of their designs.

Vistaprint and Moo are expensive for what you get.. pretty certain they're one and the same outfit..

As an example, for the gentleman who enquired above, he was after two sets of 250 cards (500), for about £2 difference in price I can offer 2 sets of 500 cards (1000) and I have quoted the following:

Business Cards
85mm x 55mm
450gsm Silk Card
Matt Laminated - Double Side
Full Colour – Double Side

2x Designs – 500 cards of each - £53.00 total (1000 cards) including delivery.

nothing else to add and turnaround time is about 2 days.

be interested to know how that compares to what others pay..

I've ordered from Moo recently. I went for 400gsm, two sided, standard size and shape. I bought 50 because I wasn't sure of the quality I'd receive.

I do question the need for 500 cards. I've been a working stiff for 30 years, from back before email and mobile phones, and I'll bet I haven't used as many as 500 cards in all that time.

Do people who buy that many genuinely use them, or do they just go for the best percieved VFM?

I must have shredded tens of thousands over the years, as addresses, phone numbers and jobs changed.

I'm not sure I'd ever bother buying more than 100 at a time. Reminds me I really need to get some more done.

Yes, some people do. I've seen a guy go through 250 in a month but I get through about 5 a year!

From a pricing view point 50 or 250 cards are so similar that you might as well go for 250.

That's kind of my point. I suspect lots of people get 500 because there's so little price difference, and then 493 of them are wasted, and eventually binned.

When I used to be an employee, any new job would see me receive enough business card to fill a shoebox. They'd almost all go in the shredder eventually.

I've had my own business(es) for more than ten years, and in that time I've not used more than about 50 cards.
