I'm looking for a business credit card which we'll put say £5,000 a month on.

Not bothered about cash back or airmiles etc too much (would prefer the latter if needed) but are there any cards that give decent benefits like travel insurance/lounge access.

The card will be paid off in full each month so I'm not too concerned about APR and if there's a yearly fee to be paid by the business that gives me some personal benefit then that's also fine.

Ideas?

Other issue seems to be most are AMEX, will I struggle using it in many places? Don't have much experience of AMEX.

As regards AMEX, it all depends on what you'll be using the card for?

AMEX cards in the main have the better benefits such as Airmiles (although others do offer this) as well as Lounge Access & of course BA Companion vouchers etc. They're accepted most places i'd expect a business to be suing it such as for travel, but smaller retailers often don't want to accept them & the same applies for some online retailers.

There's also a difference between a personal card (i.e. in your name) that you use exclusively for business and a business/corporate credit card.

You don't always get the same benefits. Technically, the benefits of a corporate card would acrue to the business. So this is worth checking out. Doing the accounts is easier if it's a company card, however.

Personally I have a BA AMEX to get miles and most importantly the companion voucher which is triggered at either £10K or £20k depending upon which card you get (i.e. how much you pay per year). I buy all travel on this as the travel insurance and trip protection is (IMHO) the best. But you don't get lounge access. The Platinum AMEX card you get lounge access but not the companion voucher.

Not everywhere takes AMEX so you will need another card in any respect. I have a 0% interest card but the next best option would probably be a cashback credit card as the AMEX gives me all the benefits I need/want.

If BA is not your thing then Virgin do one through MBNA where you get two cards on one account: AMEX and VISA.
