How to create a page for your business on Linked In?

Hi Folks

I want to create a page for my business on Linked In. However, I get the impression that I need to include the company details on my personal profile i.e. stating that I own and work at the business at present. Is this correct?

Ideally, I want to create the business page but not include it in my main profile since I have a full time job and this business will only be conducted by myself at evenings and weekends etc?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

linkedIn is about people, so what would the point be in having a company presence on there with no people attached to it?
as any valid company will have people working for it and linkedIn is about promoting those people it makes sense that a company is simply the description for a collective of people and therefore needs to be set up by one of them...

so the question then would be: what is the point in promoting the company on linkedIn if not promoting the people (ie keeping your presence hidden) - wrong website...
