Thinking about hiring some kit out locally. Welders, plasma maybe £2k to £10k. Mainly b2b but if it involves the public it would have to smaller kit (power supply requirements).

Any advice on deposits, insurance and general advise appreciated, even if it's don't do it.

Join a hire association either Hae or cpa are main ones , they will give advice and let you use their hire conditions. (Which normally involve the customer insuring themselves) Also health and safety is key , look at what tests you have to perform on the equipment and when.
