I have a load of products that need to be added to our websites, my existing team won't handle this on top of existing work load and I don't want to get someone else full time.

Is there any services that offer product addition?

It's not rocket science, there must be plenty of eCommerce businesses like mine that'd use this service if reasonably priced and accurate.

Has anyone used Upwork or similar freelancers? Short term worker like a school leaver or uni gap year student? Pros and cons?

Where are you getting the product data/information from? Could you use bulk product import software?

As Jammy said can't you get your items on csv ? If they are on Amazon or eBay you may be able to download to csv.
We have a person who does it but she is fully committed for the next 6/8 weeks,

I spent some time last night learning import/export and have found that copying and pasting into CSV does make things a whole lot quicker.

Unfortunately I'll still have to format the descriptions etc before pasting them into the spreadsheet and have to add images manually but it's still far quicker. Managed 58 products including images but no descriptions so far.

I think I might have to man up and just work harder for a bit. There are less than 1000 items to add at the minute and if I can do 60 in a few hours then it should only be a few weeks of evenings.

Things we do to afford super cars and days out with the kids.... rolleyes

Mostly from supplier websites, they don't have data feeds available and some of the product lines I have to "improve" the descriptions.

But I have managed to get import export to work.

Magento is a funny beast, it won't accept CSV files from excel but if I use Google Sheets and export that way it works fine once you learn all the little niggles that will reject the feed. It's still telling me there are some duplicates now even though there aren't!

If you're going to be bulk uploading products on a regular basis then have a look at using Magmi.
