So you can see I sent 30 units in 3 boxes of 10 all booked in nicely, a product I have little competition on and a price advantage to boot

On the 5th of September a competitor lists the item at a loss and on FBA , hmmm so I call my mate / my supplier "did you do a deal with Fred Bloggs" he asked the ean and checked - not had any since 2013 he said.

So Amazon have booked in my 30 and given 10 to someone who used to sell them years ago.

Ive only just realised I am 10 down so I have raised a ticket with Amazon and tomorrow I will call Fred Bloggs and tell them no issue but etc etc and see if the scary issue I have just highlighted can actually happen (HOW?)

Will update

My guess is human error. Simple example which happens in warehouses is a damaged box end label so it couldn't be scanned and so had to be put on the system manually. Do you apply the FNSKU labels or do you get Amazon to do it? I assume you use these as I understand relying on GS1 EAN is a recipe for disaster.

GS1 are ok but the amount of retired then reissued bar codes screwing up Amazon is laughable.
In this case I've no idea how it happened but the lucky seller made a few £hundred and Amazon will compensate me at my selling price which if true is great!

So they cant reallocate the stock back to you? Sounds odd as effectively Amazon are running a consignment stock operation. As for GS1 one of my clients sells some widgets on Amazon. They designed the widgets and have their logo on them but have farmed out manufacturing to China. They also supply the same widgets with different branding to other businesses (With a different EAN).

They originally used FBA. So in theory their stock could be co-mingled but that shouldn't happen. All went swimmingly well for a while until they had a return which didn't have their logo on it (the logo is formed into the plastic case). The widget was identical with the same EAN and even had their logo and SKU printed on the PCB.

Turns out the manufacturer in China had manufactured a pile of them and stuck them on Alibaba. The client doesn't use FBA anymore or the manufacturer in China.
