My friend has one of these that he says I can have a play around with it soon: https://www.dji.com/phantom-4

I want to run a 3D image mapping test of some terrain, then import the data into 3D software for display purposes.

The bit I am struggling with is deciding upon the photo stitching software, examples include but there are probably many others:

https://pix4d.com/

www.dronedeploy.com

Just wondering if anyone is involved in such activities, with the software ranging from hundreds to potentially thousands, although one offers a free trial period so will play with that first.

The end goal is to display augmented reality products in real world environments, I am doing this for a bit of learning and fun not for commercial gain at the moment.

Thanks, J

Just re read and you are aware you need a CAA license

If you go down pro route make sure you check on the CAA website your provider is registered

Cheers

Ps
Im training with this lot as they offer extra training and software training.

We've used Dronedeploy before.

Good bit of technology really and works well.

No massively expensive but our work type has changed a bit recently so not being used much at the moment.
