Money 'burning a hole' in company pocket
Discussion
Hi All,
I've got a bit of cash 'burning a hole' in my company pocket.
Earning bugger all interest at the bank and not enough to buy a property with outright.
No other real assets that the business needs at the moment - all IT'd up as far as needs be. No other loans etc - just a car on lease which works well for what we need it for.
Have considered a Defender 90 - as a bit of a toy more than anything else - but we do a lot of work out in the sticks and occasionally do end up borrowing a Hilux off a company who we work with. However, a Defender would perhaps hold it's money better than a Hilux.
Is buying property perhaps the best option???

Well, good for you!
The answer depends on many variables.
Are you looking to grow your business - fatten it up for a tasty exit later on? If so, invest in someone or something that will support this; new salesperson, acquisition of another business.
Is the sector secure or vulnerable? - if the latter; hold onto the cash until you need it.
Start another complimentary business.
Or pay yourself a nice Christmas bonus.

Would an outlander fit the bill for your off-road needs? If so, one of the PHEV versions will get you 100% write off year one I think? I bought an e-golf recently for similar reasons (didnt need a 4WD) so also very interested in others comments. I assume you have maxed out pension contributions, have the wife (if you have one) as a director etc?
