My Mrs has just taken the plunge and started up her own HR Consultancy, and has decided to quit the HR Director role she had due to the unreasonable amount of travel, out of hours work and general other unreasonable stress they were causing!

So I was looking for suggestions by others on here how they go about looking for assignments. From my experience, I'm thinking it's either A) look for 'contract' type work through the agencies or B) approach businesses, tender for work, attend the Networking type events.

Any top tips or suggestions on helping her look out for pieces of work? Even though she has now set up a website / Linked In profile, company type Facebook / Twitter stuff - is there any advice from anyone who's been in a simlar position?

Thanks for the help...

If its anything like IT Contracting, dont look for contract work through agencies, go directly to the websites that the jobs are posted on. www.reed.co.uk and www.jobserve.co.uk would be two of the relevant to her ones i use. When i'm needing work (having needed to for 18 months fortunately) i simply go to those sites and a couple of other IT specific ones and search each day. Relying on agencies to come to you isnt as effective as it should be.
