Really not sure which group to post this on, but hopefully there will be some PH biz experts who can help me!

I've got to send out around 80 'large letter-sized' packages. They are calendars which are going in a bubble-lined envelope.

They are the incorrect shape for franking. Postage, second class, is £1.22. Is there another, quicker solution than individually putting £1.22 of stamps on every envelope?

Thanks.

Which will take what, ten minutes? They're self adhesive now.

Can't you just run labels through the franking machine and stick them to the envelopes??

You can buy postage online from Royal Mail and it prints it out on a nice Avery label. You can pay on your card or faff around with an account facility.

80 pieces isn't too big a deal (but you'll have to key in each address).

Sorry, complete amateur with all of this so not sure on the franking.

Can you buy '£1.22 large letter' stamps though or is it a case of getting 2 x 56p stamps and adding 1 & 2p stamps to make up the rest.

Thanks - that's an idea.

If you take them to the post office can they print large letter (250g) postage labels?

If you have a franking machine, then buying stamps would be daft. Franking is cheaper - something like 96p for 250gsm large letter.

Get franking labels. Frank them. Stick them on the envelopes

Have you tried it though...takes way longer than sticking a stamp on.

And in answer to OP's earlier question, yes, you can buy £1.22 large letter stamps. No need to buy small denominations and make them up.

I went to the post office last night and ended up buying a batch of £1.17 and 5p stamps. They didn't seem to think they did £1.22 stamps.

Why on earth they have £1.17 stamps when there isn't anything on the pricelist for £1.17 I don't know! Unless they've put the prices up 5p and decided not to release updated stamps.
